Learning and Development

At Sunbeams we work within the framework of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). For further details of (EYFS) from the OFSTED website please click the logo link below.

This framework is divided into four sections:-

• A Unique Child
• Positive Relationships
• Enabling Environments
• Learning and Development

These 4 key areas cover all aspects of care and education for children aged 0 to 5. We work closely with the borough of Poole Early Years consultants, regularly updating our staff training, both in house and externally, and keeping abreast of all relevant legislation.

Curriculum Planning

Planning of the curriculum is a comprehensive package consisting of long term aims and objectives, mid term and weekly plans, individual monitoring and the observation of childrens' progress through a rigorous keyworker system.

We aim to nurture the childrens' development in all areas to meet their individual needs – personally, emotionally, physically and mentally.
