About Sunbeams Day Care
Sunbeams was established and opened in 2006 and is located in the grounds of Heatherlands First School. Our professional and dedicated nursery team are highly qualified and have over 50 years of experience between them in child care. We have a high ratio of staff to children and our nursery is run by the managing director and setting manager.
Classrooms
At Sunbeams we have two large and airy classrooms and a fully enclosed outdoor play area. We also have full use, throughout the year, of the school grounds (timetable dependent) which includes a nature trail and pond area, as well as a small terrace area to the side of one of the classrooms.
Sunbeams offers a fun and creative environment where the quality of instruction and the interaction between children and staff is of primary importance. Our PIGLETS classroom is used for the care of 2 to 3 year olds whilst the TIGGERS classroom is used for the 3 to 4 year olds.
During after school hours the pre-school children who stay on a little later all go into PIGLETS allowing us to hold BUDDIES after school club in the TIGGERS room.
At Sunbeams we believe that children thrive best in an outdoor environment where they can feel free and run around to explore. If you think back to your own childhood – 9 out of 10 people would say their best memories involve playing outdoors!
Child Care Services
Sunbeams child care services include:
- Full Time Nursery - 2 to 4 yr olds
- Sessional Pre-school - 2 to 4 yr olds
- Pre-school Holiday Club - 2 to 4 yr olds
- Breakfast Club - 2 to 4 yr olds and 5 to 12 yr olds
- After School Club - 2 to 4 yr olds and 5 to 12 yr olds
- Holiday Club - 5 to 12 yr olds
We aim to achieve a good balance between adult led and child initiated learning, encouraging independence and free thinking.
